Understudy — Support
Understudy is an educational investing simulator. It uses practice money only. It never connects to a real brokerage or bank, never moves real funds, and nothing in it is investment advice.
Contact
Email info@bertolabs.com and a person will reply, usually within two business days. Include the app version (Settings → About) and, for anything that looks like a bug, what you tapped just before it happened.
Common questions
Is any of this real money? No. Every balance, order, fill, and outcome in Understudy is simulated. The “linked bank” on the Add Cash screen is part of the simulation. You cannot buy or sell a real security from this app.
Are the prices real? Prices are simulated. Bond funds follow the shape of published Treasury yield history; everything else is generated from calibrated statistics or is a fictional company. Every price surface in the app says so.
Do I need an account? No. The app works without signing in. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and only exists to keep your progress if you switch phones.
How do I cancel a subscription? Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your phone, or use Manage Subscription inside Understudy (Profile → Subscription). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
How do I restore a purchase? Profile → Subscription → Restore Purchases, signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with.
How do I delete my account and data? Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and everything synced to it. Practice data stored only on your phone goes with the app when you delete it.
How do I get a refund? Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
